Today we looked at some of the debates that delayed ratification of the US Constitution. If you missed class you need to complete the two assignments below. 1. Recreate the Color Notes posted below in your journal. Yes you need to use color. 2. Read the documents posted below, one from a Federalist and another from an Anti-Federalist and complete the Graphic Organizer.
Today in class we are looking at the 5 founding ideals that the United States was started on. If you missed class you need to look at the slideshow below and add the 5 ideals and their definitions to your journal. This should take about half a page. Then you need to use the Ideals Placards document below to complete the Ideals Placard Assignment. The assignment is absolutely necessary as it will drive your essay at the end of this unit. Today in class we created maps that showcase a variety of geographic themes throughout the United States. If you missed class OR did not finish in class you need to use the resources below to finish. How to create the maps 1. Print off the blank maps attached below and tape, glue, or staple each one to a different page in your US History journal. Make sure you have space to answer one question on each page (most likely underneath your map). THERE ARE 5 MAPS. 2. Use the instruction sheets and the readings to create your maps. Each instruction sheet will tell you what to put on the map and have a question for you to answer. The readings will help you answer the questions and show you what to put on your map. THERE ARE 5 SETS OF INSTRUCTIONS AND 5 READINGS. IF YOU ARE CONFUSED TALK TO MS. ANTRIM. Homework: Finish your maps. Use the resources below. You can also use Chapter 3 in your textbook.
Today in class we looked at U.S. geography through the lens of the 5 themes of geography. We also got a chance to practice using Padlet, an instructional technology tool that allows us to share ideas or sources. If you missed class today you need to use the note-taking guide below (Microsoft Word File) to complete the notes (the PDF file attached to this post is the slideshow). Then to make up the Padlet assignment you need to complete the 5 Themes Alternative Assignment (Microsoft Word File). Today we started our study of history by asking the question "Why study history?" If you missed class see the assignments below. Today's Slideshow: Introduction to US History 1. You missed picking up your textbooks. Make sure to visit the textbook room on your own or talk to Mrs. Armstrong in the main office to pick up your books. 2. Watch the video found in the slideshow about - "Why Study History?" 3. Make-up Assignment: After watching the video decide which of the 4 reasons you agree with the most. Write a paragraph (at least 8 sentences) that explains why you agree with that reason. Use specific examples from your own life, reading, previous classes, prior knowledge of history, etc. Your paragraph should have a claim sentence, detail sentences and analysis sentences, and a conclusion sentence. 4. Using the instructions in the slideshow submit your own Flipgrid vidoes. You can download the app for free on your phone or go to flipgrid.com. Instructions are in the slideshow. American Ideals Publisher: TCI Step 1: Go to: https://launchpad.classlink.com/Issaquah (or Google "Classlink Issaquah"). You will see the district logo on the login screen. Step 2: Log onto ClassLink with your network username. The first 4 letters of your last name, first 3 letters of your first name, and your two-digit graduation year. Example: SmitJoe20. Your password is the same as your regular network password. This is what you use when you log onto the computer at school. Step 3: Click on the TCI icon. Step 4: The first time you may be asked for your teacher's email address. Typically it is their last name, first initial @issaquah.wednet.edu. Then select your class from the list that pops up. [email protected] NOTE: Depending on the browser you are using; you may be asked to install an extension. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the extension. Once installed you will not be asked to install it again on that computer. If you skipped over installing the extension you can access extensions for browsers here. Classlink Mobile App: · From your App store, search "Classlink Launchpad." · Install and open the app. You do not need to allow location. · Search and select "Issaquah" - you will only need to do this the first time you open the app Enter your username and password for Classlink On our first day we will go over the basics of the course and the syllabus.
