Welcome to online learning. Today is the first day where classes are being held on a set schedule and when work will start to be graded. The schedule for the rest of the school year is below. I have also included the schedule for ELD this week. If you have questions about the schedule, classes, homework, laptops and internet, meals, etc. please send me an email.
At-Home Learning Schedule Mondays – A Days Tuesdays – B Days Wednesdays – Office Hours (time to ask teachers questions) Thursdays – A Days Friday – B Days ELD Schedule This Week - go to Office 365 (office.com), open Teams and find our class – ENG LANG DEV Period 2. Monday – Watch the “Introduction to Teams” video Ms. Antrim posted on the main page and read the description. Complete the Introduction to Teams Scavenger Hunt assignment. Go to “Files” and open the assignment. It will tell you what to do. Wednesday – Ms. Antrim will have Office Hours from 8am to 9am where you can ask me questions. No assignments. Thursday – Office Hours from 8am to 9am where you can ask me questions. Live Teams Meeting (open up Teams and click “Join Meeting”) at 12-12:30pm. I will still post here but your assignments will be in Teams. For today's assignment I want you to make your own post in our Teams page. The instructions are below.
1. Log onto Office 365. 2. Click on Teams. It is a purple icon. 3. Open the Teams page for our class - ENG LANG DEV - Period 2. 4. Start a new conversation. Find a Youtube video that explains or demonstrates a cultural practice or event from your home country. Post a link to the video and include one question your classmates can answer. On Monday you watched a video and wrote a summary. Today I want you to read an article write a reaction. Below is a link to the Liberty Patriot Press. This is our school newspaper and all of the articles were written by high school students from Liberty. You need to pick an article to read. After you read the article I want you to write a reaction paragraph using the guidelines below.

Today's video is about how small businesses are dealing with the coronavirus AND what individuals are doing to help their communities at this time. After watching the video you should write a formal academic summary of the topic. The parts of a summary are below. A. Topic sentence: title, author (CNN10), main topic B. Detail sentences: - at least 3 sentences - citation words that credit the author - pronouns to refer to the author - transitions to connect ideas Use your Academic English Packet! C. Concluding sentence: restate the main idea Hello again! I hope everyone is doing good. Remember every Issaquah School District student can get two free meals a day from a variety of school sites and now neighborhoods where school buses are making deliveries. There is information on the ISD website and on Liberty's website. If you need a laptop or hotspot for internet those are also available for checkout let me know and I will send you the information.

I hope everyone is safe and healthy at home. This week I will be calling all of the ELL students at Liberty to check in with you and your families. We will talk about:
1. If you need food there are lunches available from the school district. The food is free. You can pick up 2 meals per student Monday - Friday from 9am to 12pm. Briarwood Elementary School and Newcastle Elementary School. 2. If you need a laptop or hotpot (gives you free internet) I can help you get that. Just send me an email - [email protected]. 3. Your teachers are going to post optional assignments for you on their websites. These are optional meaning they will not be graded and are not required. 4. I want you to finish all of your MISSING ASSIGNMENTS for any class first. I will help you and you can turn them in via email or Office 365. I will call you and email you today or tomorrow.
