Today we started our second end of the year project - Geography: It's Music to Our Ears. If you missed class today you need to do 3 things.
1. Watch the first video in the slideshow and complete the notes found on that slide. This video is about how Disney has changed how they use music to move from cultural appropriation to using music and language in amazing ways that are culturally sensitive and that tell stories about culture around the world. 2. Listen to the song "Take Me Home" by John Denver and list as many ways that geography is seen through the lyrics either explicitly (vocabulary words in the lyrics) or implicitly (through the meaning of the lyrics). 3. Read through the assignment "Geography: It's Music to Our Ears" and complete parts 1 and 2. You will complete part 3 in class on Monday as in an In-Class write. Be prepared for Monday because the only notes you will be able to use are what you completed on the assignment.
