HOMEWORK: Study for the Asia Map Quiz (on Wednesday) Geography in Action 7 (due Wednesday - it's the last one!) Socratic Seminar Make Up Assignment Write a 1 page essay (at least 3 paragraphs) answering the Focus Question for your seminar. Your essay must include a claim (thesis statement), reasoning to support the claim, and evidence from each of your sources. You must cite your sources using proper MLA format. Your essay needs to be turned it with your notes sheet and the 6 questions that you could have asked during the Socratic Seminar. This must be turned in within two class periods when you return to school.

Today we started our today day exploration of how Race/Socio-Economic Class impacts Development. If you missed today you need to watch the video in the slideshow below and takes not on it in your journal. This video acts as an important introduction to our exploration. Then you need to download the two assignments below. The first page is the Socratic Seminar Preparation Packet. This is how you are getting points for the seminar. You need to read this and pick which of the focus question you will do. Then you need to listen to, watch, read, and examine all of the sources listed below your focus question. The second document is your note taking sheet for the sources. Use this to keep track of your notes while reading. Then you need to write 6 questions to use during the Socratic Seminar.
Our Socratic Seminar is on Monday, April 15. You must be ready with your preparation assignments and questions. You have all of break to get ready. I look forward to hearing what you have to say.
